The criminal has called CEO to transfer the fund of $243000 to a Hungarian supplier in an hour, with guarantee that the transfer would be reimburse immediately. Thus the CEO heard  familiar voice of his boss and had not suspected anything. Then as the funds are transferred to Hungry that were eventually moved to Mexico and other locations. And thus authorities not yet determine the culprits of this cybercrime operation.

In this case AI based voice generation software was able to successfully imitate the voice of German CEO. As the tools are developing to the more and more realistic things the criminals are likelihood of getting advantages of it.
