A Quantum Computer is a device which uses the distinct Quantum mechanical phenomenon such as superposition and Quantum entanglement to perform the operation on a data. To understand how does it works first we need to understand what is quantum computing.
It is the technique which uses the strange ability of sub-atomic particle to exist in more than one state at any time, this is called as superposition. These can be explained with an example, suppose a sphere, in classic computing the beats can be stored on the two poles of the sphere but in the quantum computing the bits can be stored at any point on the sphere that creates more space for the storage, this bits are called as qubits. Qubits cannot be only 0 or 1 an but also 0 and 1 means of it can attain any value between 0 and 1.
